Just two weeks  away!

30,000+  LGBT people set to invade Disneyland in Anaheim California!

Following last year’s event which attracted nearly 30,000 gays and lesbians from California and all over the country, this year’s Gay Days Anaheim will be held Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5, 2008.

Gay Days Anaheim is a “mix-in” with straight park-goers. –  Gays and lesbians are encouraged to wear red shirts to the parks to identify one another and show strong numbers. Official T-shirts are available at the official Gay Day at Disneyland Web site. –  or be creative and design your own!

Both days in the park will have gathering times for specific groups including gay youth (sponsored by The Trevor Project), families, women, singles, and bears. THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! There will be scavenger hunts and a group photo inside the park. A complete schedule is available at the web site.

The weekend opens Friday, October 3 with WONDERLAND, a dance party with DJ Ray Rhodes (Tiger Heat, KBIG 104), hosted by Los Angeles drag diva Momma. Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty) will host the VIP room. The event, benefitting The Trevor Project, runs from 9:30pm–1am at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen located in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Saturday, will be Gay Day at Disneyland resort all day, which culminates with the famous  KINGDOM party, the weekend’s signature dance party with music from internationally renowned DJ Kimberly S. There will be special performances by Erin Hamilton (“Dreamweaver”), Shoshana Bean, and Matt Zarley. The event will be held at the House of Blues Anaheim in Downtown Disney from 9pm–1:30am. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door.

Sunday, October 6 will be Gay Day at Disney’s California Adventure.

Other events during the weekend include free movie screenings at the Gay Days Entertainment Center presented by here! (located inside the Trillium Room of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel). Chad Allen will introduce his new film, “Ice Blues”, on Saturday night. Brad Rowe will be present his indie hit, “Shelter”, on Sunday night.

A limited number

of Discounted hotel rooms and park tickets
are  still available and currently offered at  Gay Days Anaheim

*Gay Days Anaheim is NOT a Disney-sponsored event so Disney will not have any information regarding this “unofficial” happening.

However, you can rest assured , Disney welcomes the LGBT community and has lots  of security on hand to make sure  we have fun and are not in any way harassed by straight park-goers.

It’s an awesome and empowering event!
And just a short ride (about 90 minutes) from Palm Springs!

Easter in Palm Springs – It’s Not Your Dad’s Spring Break!

Palm Springs had been known for years as a golf-course-studded retirement mecca that’s invaded annually by hordes of libidinous college kids on spring break. Well, the city of Palm Springs has been quietly changing its image and attracting a whole new crowd. Thank’s to former mayor (the late) Sonny Bono’s revolutionary “anti-thong” ordinance in 1991,  halted the spring-break migration by eliminating public display of the bare derrière, and the upscale fairway-condo crowd now congregates in the outlying resort cities of Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and La Quinta.

These days, no billboards are allowed in Palm Springs; all the palm trees in the center of town are backlit at night, and you won’t see the word “motel” on any establishment. Baby boomers and lots of gays and lesbians come to Palm Springs these days. And they are buying home here.

And Spring Break is no longer about throngs of drunk teenagers but thousands of gays and lesbians! The White Party in the Palm Springs Convention Center is one of the biggest and best on the US party circuit. With over 20,000 gay men dressed in white, the event brings together the world’s most talented party people to create an evening of spectacular entertainment. usually around Easter Weekend, but this year April 18-21.

April also is  Dinah Shore Golf Week, and The Dinah! The largest 4 day weekend event of its kind for gay women in the World. Pool parties, dance parties, golf and lots of women! The simple but daring concept catapulted the Dinah week to international fame. Today, The Dinah & Dinah Shore Week are considered the largest lesbian events in the world. This year is expected to be bigger and better than ever! With a huge fashion show, top-notch entertainment and a few surprises! This year running April 2 -6.

It’s probably too late to get there this year, but book early next year and plan to attend!
